Women’s Study – Increase Our Courage, Lord: Developing Courageous Faith in Babylon

Exile life for the people of God in Babylon was not easy.  It required the exercise of their faith away from home in hostile territory.  Daniel and companions from Israel lived out their faith with courage and a fearlessness that is commendable. We need more of that faith today.  Join this two-part study, of the challenge of living in our age when the dominant view of the world has veered away from the Judeo-Christian tradition.  Daniel stood up to the challenge and left quite a legacy.  Let’s dare to be Daniels…or ought that be for this class, Danielles!  This unique class will have two distinct parts.  Two of our veteran teachers (Kathy Williams and Nancy Stafford) will lead through the first six chapters of the Book of Daniel, laying the foundation of how Daniel lived out courageous faith in Babylon.  Week 7 and Week 8 will involve two 45-minute showings (part 1 and part 2) of the film Truth Rising, co-produced by Focus on the Family and the Colson Center.  The last four weeks of the class will be a facilitated study and discussion of four vital themes growing out of this series: Hope, Truth, Identity, and Calling.  Calvary’s own Colson Fellow, Jessica Markink, will lead in the last six weeks of this companion study.
