Our age is full of emptiness. The formal word is “banal, banality.” Nothing seems to mean anything. The preacher in Ecclesiastes would simply say, “All is vanity.” But it is when we realize our created purpose in the worship and enjoyment of God that life fills with bright color and meaning. Human flourishing is held out for us in the worship and adoration of the Living God reveled in Jesus Christ. A life brim full of the resolve to worship the Lord in everything we do is a life brim full of the joy of the Lord. Worship is a gift we offer to our Lord because He is worthy and because of what we owe Him. “He loved us and gave Himself for us.” Week after week we gather together to approach Him. Over these next few weeks in this new preaching series we will set our heart aright in approaching the Lord together. Let’s keep singing, because it is the collective cry of our hearts, “O come, let us adore Him!” Let’s offer together something beautiful for God!
